WCUC welcomes applications from students of all ages and each application is considered carefully. Generally, for many of our courses you will require a GCSE English language and/or Maths at grade C/4 or above. The college welcomes applications from students with disabilities and those with relevant work experience who may not have related formal academic qualifications, so please always contact us to discuss further*. UCAS tariff point requirements are listed on the WCUC website and UCAS platform. Tariff points can be achieved from many different qualifications (see UCAS Tariff Points Calculator for more details). *Entry requirements are for guidance only. We welcome students with equivalent qualifications and combinations but please contact us to discuss further.
INTEGRATED FOUNDATION YEAR
You should have completed a minimum of 32 UCAS tariff points, usually the equivalent of at least two A Levels or a pass in a BTEC course. It may be possible to study as a mature student with professional or industry experience. For some courses, you may have at least two A Levels at Grade E or a GCSE or Functional Skills.
ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION (HE)
If you don’t have the traditional qualifications to get onto a degree course, you can study a one-year, full-time Access to HE course. This will prepare you for a degree course in a supportive environment.

TOP-UP DEGREES
Typically a Level 5 qualification or Foundation degree in a related subject is required for entry to a top-up degree.
DEGREES / FOUNDATION DEGREES
Applicants typically need 96-128 UCAS points for degree courses or 80 UCAS points for Foundation Degrees. These points can be from Level 3 qualifications such as a BTEC Extended Diploma or a City & Guilds Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in a related subject, T Level, or A Levels. Additionally, applicants must have four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English Language.
Entry requirements are for guidance only. We also consider students with equivalent qualifications and mature applicants with relevant professional or industry experience.

Applicants typically need A Levels, (and in some instances Maths or a Science), or a Level 3 qualification in a related subject.

Access to Higher Education (HE) diplomas are courses that prepare you to study for a degree. They are designed for people aged 19 and over who may have left school without the usual qualifications, such as A Levels. Many Access to HE students go on to succeed at degree level and beyond – pursuing new careers and seeing changes in their lives that they had never thought possible.
Students study in a supportive environment with other adult students. We ease students back into education by building on existing experiences. We offer a trio of industry-specific Access to HE courses, so that you can start working towards your chosen career straight away. The Diplomas are validated by Cambridge Access Validating Agency (CAVA) and are recognised by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education.

This exciting degree course in Business and Management has been designed in collaboration with local employers to meet their knowledge and skills requirements. This course includes study modes that are ideal for those in full-time work wishing to achieve an Honours degree in part-time hours and for those who have already completed a Foundation degree or HND.
The course fully exploits students’ employment experience and can be greatly beneficial to students in their roles as employees and employers alike. At the centre of learning for this course are the student’s employability and canine rehabilitation is widely regarded as one of the fastest growing areas in pet welfare and veterinary practice.
The course will develop your understanding of the scientific principles and clinical practice of the prehabilitation techniques for maximum performance and health and rehabilitation techniques for animals post veterinary treatment. It will cover aspects of hydrotherapy and land-based rehabilitation in the small animal including in-patient, out-patient and the elite athlete. The overall focus of the course is a holistic approach to maintaining and improving animal health and welfare and therefore includes the development of positive behavioural modification techniques and therapeutic handling skills to facilitate the rehabilitation process.

This course offers students the chance to immerse themselves in practical aspects of computing and network technology. Work-based learning and placements are an integral feature of this course.
The understanding of how key aspects of business are fundamental to network and IT infrastructure and business operations is explored. Students are introduced to industry professional standards and cover subjects in addition to networking including security, programming, user experience, systems analysis and database design. The course maps to the CCNA curriculum giving students the opportunity to register for the qualification test. FdSc and BSc (Hons) students also study professionally aligned modules.

Our Foundation Degree in Early Years Educator carries the Higher Technical Qualification kitemark and is aligned to the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner standard.
This carefully designed course has been developed to provide progression for those who have completed a Level 5 qualification in Early Years. Study a one-year Early Years Top-up degree that will fit around your work schedule.
This course focuses on your self-development and independent learning, as well as developing your critical thinking, reflection and research skills. The modules allow you to explore issues children face globally and factors that influence contemporary education in the UK, as well as the impact inclusive education and diverse communities have on childhood. Includes a dissertation, which equips you with the research to challenge local practice in an early years setting.

Our part-time BEng (Hons) Manufacturing Engineering (Top-up) course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, meeting Further Learning requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer. Candidates must hold an IEng accredited HND / FdEng / FdSc for full IEng registration.
The modern coach plays a vital role in the development of sporting performance, and coaching is no longer seen as purely teaching but has evolved to include a more holistic approach.
Knowledge of areas such as sports psychology, nutrition, biomechanics, fitness and new technologies is vital in the coaching of horse and rider partnerships to fulfil their potential and reach peak performance. This course is suited to students who are keen to study equine to degree level in order to successfully coach horse riders of all levels. Students have the opportunity to ride and gain practical coaching experience weekly over the duration of the course. Students may also gain 1st4sport equine coaching qualifications on successful completion of their degree.

Therapy and rehabilitation of equine performance is a rapidly growing area of the equine industry. It is now recognised by the industry that the need for alternative and complementary therapies are paramount in order to promote horse health and performance.
This innovative course enables students to develop excellent therapeutic vocational skills, as well as provide sound academic and specialist knowledge in order to promote equine performance within all fields of the equine industry. Students will make full use of our hydrotherapy equipment including water treadmill and ECB cold water spa within the specialist equine therapy and rehabilitation centre. The course is accredited to AHPR allowing students to register on successful completion of their degree to work as an equine rehabilitation therapist.

The FdA and BA (Hons) Performing Arts courses are designed for students who wish to turn their creative talents and passion into a career as a practitioner or teacher in theatre, film, TV and other emerging platforms.
Alongside ensemble and theatre company style performance work, students undertake classes in audition and acting techniques, screen acting, voice, singing, improvisation, movement and physical theatre, stage combat, dance, text analysis and interpretation, digital theatre and applied theatre and education. You will study five modules throughout the year, all at Level 6 including a dissertation.
This course offers an excellent opportunity for students to qualify as Veterinary Physiotherapists while earning a degree.
Recognised by the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP) and the Animal Health Professions’ Register (AHPR), it combines academic study with practical skills. Graduates can apply for full NAVP membership, which offers professional recognition, insurance, and CPD opportunities. You’ll also have the chance to engage with our on-site Canine Therapy Clinic as part of your studies.

Just like traditional degrees, an apprenticeship is a great route to a successful career. With a degree apprenticeship, you can achieve a full Bachelor’s degree.
Degree apprenticeships bring together the best of higher and technical education, combining degree study with practical skills gained in work and the financial security of a regular salary. Apprentices split their time between studying for their degree and applying this while learning new skills in the workplace, and are employed throughout. This enables them to achieve their qualification alongside earning a wage and getting real on-the-job experience. WCG has worked with leading companies such as Cummins, Meggitt and Parker Hannifin on degree apprenticeships in Engineering, and new programmes are currently being developed*.
